We Scare Hunger

Hunger affects people from all walks of life.  This year at Twelfth Avenue, the students from Division 1 and 2 are collecting canned foods and non-perishable items for WE Scare Hunger campaign.  By holding this food drive, we have the opportunity to contribute to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and raise awareness of the root causes of hunger.

Each student is encouraged to donate nutritious, non-perishable foods with low salt and low sugar from the list below:

  • Canned fish, chicken or turkey
  • Brown rice, barley and whole wheat pasta
  • Canned black beans, chickpeas, and kidney beans
  • Powdered skim milk
  • Canned vegetables
  • Dried lentils
  • Canned fruit
  • Nuts and/or Seeds
  • Hearty stews with 10g or more protein
  • Natural Peanut butter
  • No bulk foods please

We will be collecting canned foods and non-perishable items until October 27th, 2017.  Please have your child bring a non perishable item to school.  Each classroom will have a box to store all the canned food items.  Thank you for all your support.  Together we can all make a difference.
